Hi there,
I’m Justin Sultana, Sales Manager at Dubbo City and Gilgandra Toyota. When I’m not busy helping people find their perfect vehicle, you’ll probably find me out in the great outdoors. Whether it’s fishing at my favourite spots or camping, I always have something to tow. Six Tried-and-True Towing Tips
Here are my six go-to tips to ensure your towing experience is safe, smooth, and enjoyable:
- Know Your Limits - Always check your vehicle’s and trailer’s towing capacities. Staying within these limits is essential for safety and performance.
- Secure Your Load - It sounds simple, but ensuring everything is tightly secured can save you from headaches later.
- Check Your Tyres - Properly inflated tyres on both your vehicle and trailer make a huge difference in handling and fuel efficiency.
- Light It Up - Double-check your brake lights and indicators. Clear communication on the road is critical, especially when towing.
- Maximise Visibility - Adjust your mirrors so you have a clear view of your trailer and the road around you.
- Final Safety Check - Before heading off, make sure your cufflink is secure, the jockey wheel is raised, and the wiring and safety chains are properly connected.
