Friends of Macquarie Home Stay

At Dubbo City Toyota & Gilgandra Toyota, we are committed to supporting initiatives that enhance mobility, accessibility, and well-being for our communities. Through our partnership with Macquarie Home Stay, we are helping to remove barriers to essential medical care by ensuring that patients and their escorts have access to affordable, high-quality accommodation during their treatment journey.

The Friends of Macquarie Home Stay (FoMHS) is a network of people and communities right across central and western NSW that come together to support and help Macquarie Home Stay whenever and however they can. And we're honoured to supply this group of volunteers with a Toyota RAV4 and help guests get to and from their treatment safely and comfortably.

Tradies inSight

Tradies inSight is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at raising awareness of the mental health issues that are unique to tradies and providing them with information and support. In an industry where the rate of suicide is six times the national average, it is a vital support network for trade-based industries.

The work of founder Bruno Efoti is close to the heart of our Dealer Principal, Ben Thompson, who as an employer of tradies believes that it is important that everyone knows it’s ok not to be ok. That it is more than ok to ask for help. And, if you’d like support, Bruno and the Tradies inSight team is there for you.

Tour de OROC

We are proud to be naming rights sponsor of the Toyota Tour de OROC, run by The Rotary Club of Dubbo South, a 6-day biennial ride created in 2013 to raise money for Macquarie Homestay. 

Our Managing Director, David Hayes, puts his butt & legs on the line cycling more than 1,000km each ride. In 2022, Toyota Tour de OROC riders raised $177,500 for Macquarie Home Stay. This will hopefully allow them to start stage two of their expansion and continue providing a home away from home when western NSW residents need to come to Dubbo to seek medical treatment. Stage two includes 26 units to support the Western Cancer Centre, 14 General Patient Unit and 5 Family Units. Once complete, it will increase the Home Stay's offering from 17 units to a total of 63 units.

This year, we took our sponsorship of this great event and wonderful cause to a whole new level this year with Win a RAV4. Congratulations to the lucky winner!

Hear our Heart

It's a wonderful service for our community and we are proudly the major sponsor of the Hear our Heart bus. 

We've been supporting the initiative since 2013 when fundraising first began and have been supplying fuel since 2017. However, in January 2023, we stepped it up a notch and took on the servicing, maintenance, cleaning, and housing of the bus. Charlie, one of the team at Dubbo City Toyota,  has taken charge of looking after the bus. Charlie is extremely passionate about supporting the Hear Our Heart bus. What we didn't know when he took it on was that one of his grandchildren has been supported by charity with their ongoing hearing problems. 

Servco Australia, our partner in business, has donated time to the charity with Tim & Igor from the IT Department jumping on board to provide technical assistance. 

Dubbo Gold Cup

We were thrilled to be the naming rights sponsor and to deliver another amazing experience at the 2025 Dubbo City & Gilgandra Toyota Dubbo Gold Cup! 

The eight-race program includes the $150,000 Dubbo City and Gilgandra Toyota Dubbo Gold Cup, which is a qualifying race for the $3 million The Big Dance.

Other feature events on the day include the $75,000 XXXX Gold Vincent Gordon Flying Handicap, $50,000 Arrowfield Country Magic Plate and $50,000 Dubbo City & Gilgandra Toyota Super Maiden.
